Comfort fit for a king in our Belmont Room. This is one of our most popular rooms. This richly decorated room has a Queen Canopy Bed with a extra thick/ extra comfortable pillow top mattress, working fireplace, television with VCR, Private bath ensuite, shower for two that opens to the room and 2 cozy wing back chairs for relaxing after a day of sightseeing.

Newport, RI Inns - Architect's Inn

The Belmont Room is named after the Belmont family. Mrs.Caroline Belmont, daughter of Commodore Matthew Perry, commissioned George Champlin Mason to build the Belmont Estate called By-the-Sea which was completed in 1860. Unfortunately, the building was demolished in 1946 and the land was combined with that of Rosecliff Masion, which is still open for tours through the Newport Preservation Society.
